03 Mar WNBA’s CT Sun Partners with SLAMT1D for 2014 Season
The WNBA’s Connecticut Sun and SLAMT1D, Inc. recently announced their partnership for the 2014 season.
Chris Sienko, General Manager of the Sun, said, “The Connecticut Sun is excited to partner with SLAMT1D for our 2014 Season.
Together we can increase awareness of T1D and help raise funds to support kids and families battling this lethal autoimmune disease. Please join us all season long and help us SLAMDiabetes!”
Jeff Kolok, CEO of SLAMT1D, Inc. is encouraged to have the support of the Connecticut Sun’s organization. “Meredith Ward and her team have been wonderful to work with. From SLAMDiabetes Night on June 12 to the PenPal program for girl basketball players with T1D, the Sun have been creative and engaged. It promises to be a very positve, effective outreach.”
Highlights of the partnership include:
- SLAMDiabetes Night: Thursday, June 12, 2014, 7PM. Connecticut Sun vs. Phoenix Mercury (expected attendance over 9,000) including Family Fan Tunnels for both teams, Honorary Captains, Half-Court Shot Contest, Meet-Greet with Sun Players;
- Fundraiser: For every $20 ticket sold for the June 12 game through SLAMDiabetes, the Sun will donate $4 to SLAMT1D;
- Player Penpals: One or more Sun players will become PenPals with girl basketball players who have T1D.
Details will be forthcoming on how to purchase tickets to attend the CT Sun vs Phoenix Mercury game and particpate in the festivities.
